Bei einem Glasfaser-Patchkabel handelt es sich um ein Glasfaserkabel, das an beiden Enden mit Anschlüssen versehen ist, die einen schnellen und bequemen Anschluss an CATV, einen optischen Schalter oder andere Telekommunikationsgeräte ermöglichen. Mit seiner dicken Schutzschicht dient es zur Verbindung des optischen Senders, Empfängers und des Anschlusskastens. Dies wird als „Interconnect-Verkabelung“ bezeichnet.
